I really liked this film. It was not as freaky as people on tiktok made it seem like(I promise I will delete that damn app. I thought Fifty Shades made BDSM popular but lot of people didn't understand d/s relationship in this film but found it funny). Who has the power: sub female ceo or dom male intern? It's an interesting character and relationship study. Like in good freaky films the kinksters are actually weird people which I loooove (two weirdos matching each other's freak is always romantic to me). Exploration of the human psyche, danger, limit, mystery and desire. Like the male character described their relationship he saw them as two children playing.

While watching the film I was sure it was directed by a woman and I was right. It just has that vibe.

Some criticism of the film is that yet again it portrays woman as the submissive one. But that is the truth in the bdsm scene most women are subs and men are doms. Why is that so I won't get into but I have no desire to judge other people's desires.

Nicole Kidman was perfect for the role. I've always liked her films. She has that intensity I really like.

Interesting, because yes, she's the sub, but she's also the CEO. I'm not into BDSM (I've read a little and it tends to leave me bored), but I remember watching The Secretary on TV way back, where she's the sub and, well, the secretary, so it was really not that interesting to me.

Yeah I find lot of BDSM stories can be a hit or a miss. I only read queer bdsm stories so the power dynamics are a bit different than in a straight female sub/dom male dynamic that also reflect society's roles.
