New Year's promises

- Read less with more intention (I'm easily influenced online and I just sometimes get overwhelmed with my tbr when i keep adding popular works that don't turn out to be not that good after all and i force myself to finish them... no more of that)
- Reread faves, read fanfics and listen to audiodramas ( i want to explore my favorite works more rather than just "consume media" and constatly finding new works to fill the gap, which i have pretty much done this year. Part of why i started this blog was to dive deeper and log everything i have read and watched)
- I want to read vintage GL and BL!
- I want to read baihe
- Continue watching queer films!
- Play (queer) games: Life is Strange, House of Fata Morgana, The Divine Speaker (entering my gamer era in 2024?)
Some stuff I learned this year:
- Growing your collection is a long-time process and doesn't have to be a shopping addiction. Budgeting is everything. I've decided to only buy works I've read before and know I love. Also, some stuff is fine only owing them online.
- Involving yourself more with fandom on tumblr, twitter and going to cons makes weeb life actually so much more fun. I used to think of this as a lonely middle-school phase but after 10+ years I'm still into it!
- Fandom is exactly how you curate it. I used to be in anti-spaces until I out of curiosity read 2ha which antis had hated on and i ended up loving it. After that I really started reading dark romance and it changed my view on the anti-proship discussion. I don't want to be part of that fight anymore. I'm an adult who knows the difference between reality and fiction and that sexuality and representation are not simple topics. Another thing I distanced myself in fandom is popular fandom "leaders" on twitter who had strong opinions and were always involved in fights. Even If i agreed with them I don't want to bring that energy into fandom.
- I've come to love reading widely from every genre. The older I get the less I care about what other people think about the works I read.
