I got this challenge from twitter. I haven't read GL in a while so I thought it would be fun to participate in this as my tbr grows larger and larger.
The works I chose:
  • A Classic: Shiroi Heya No Futari: Short boarding school yuri with a beautiful old school shojo art style
  • A Manwha: Lily of the Valley: This is by Rangari who also did the famous Bad Thinking Diary. I've heard mixed reviews of this one but I'm still gonna check it because I like the art style. Like BTD it's also apparently smut heavy
  • Manhua: Keep an Eye on You: I've only read one gl manhua (I'm more dangerous than you) and this seemed interesting in the similar way that it seems like a toxic/crime story as well
  • A genre I barely read: Hoshikuzu Telepath: I've watched both the anime and live action of this and so this has been on my tbr for long. I also chose this because it's a school setting which is a genre I don't really read
  • Someone's recommendation: Love Thy Neighbor: twitter mutual recommended this to me and this is also a sexy and toxic story so it's right up my alley
  • Drama: She loves to cook, she loves to eat: I've only heard good things about this drama and I really love romance surrounding cooking so I believe this will be a comfy watch. I will also be continue to watch new thai gls.

Have fun! <3

The GL Thai drama Unlock Your Love with Near/B Mine <3 starts on the 11th, though I'm not sure if I'll watch it as it airs or if I'll watch it later.

I just read the first chapters of Lily of the Valley and gosh! I am blushing! I don't think it's bad, but I also... don't read many manwha and I have a very strict idea of what I believe yuri as a genre is, certainly what it is to me, but this comic is very good in different ways. I like how dangerous it feels?

I became obsessed with it! I keep meaning to post about it, because I read the whole thing the following day and I was like wow. I really appreciated how cruel it was and I thought it was such a challenging book... and then I felt so sad going online and seeing people complaining about the finale. I wanted to tear my hair out! That's the point of it, you guys. Ah!

Me too! AH! I am so glad to speak to someone else who gets it. I think... there is a certain loneliness that is presented in the book taken to an extreme and... gosh, it's hard not to relate and understand the decisions Lily makes. At every point the story was clear where it was going so I think anyone turning away from the end because it was harsh does a disservice to the themes presented in the work.

I'm literally writing the entry I wanted to post about it in your comments, sorry!
